Dr. Spaccarelli

Dr. Nick Spaccarelli was born and raised in the Hudson Valley, spending most of his life in East Fishkill. He was locally schooled at John Jay Senior High School, graduating in 1997. After graduating, he went to SUNY Delhi were he received a degree as a veterinary technician and was an All American in track and field in 2000. Dr. Spaccarelli practiced as a technician in Westchester at both Sleepy Hollow Animal Hospital and Katonah Bedford Veterinary Center. He later attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN, where he continued to run track and walked on to their football team. After finishing the requirements for veterinary school in 2003, he applied and was accepted to Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Spaccarelli was the recipient of the prestigious surgery award at Ross University one of the most coveted awards at the school. With the support of his family, he completed his clinical year training at University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities in 2006.

Dr. Spaccarelli now resides in Dutchess County and is currently building a house. His professional interests are surgery, rehabilitation and pain management in pets that have chronic issues. Dr. Spaccarelli is also looking forward to starting a rehabilitation program at Hudson Highlands that would cater to patients that need post surgical rehabilitation, pain management, weight loss and continued exercise for agility animals during winter months. When not working at Hudson Highlands, Dr. Spaccarelli spends one day week being mentored by Dr. DeAngelis, a board certified veterinary surgeon, and he looks forward to working at Hudson Highlands Veterinary Medical Group along side our own board certified veterinary surgeon, Dr. Paul MacNamara.

During his off time, Dr. Spaccarelli enjoys traveling and has been to Europe, Australia, Canada, the Caribbean and Central America. He looks forward to coaching track for the Special Olympics in the Hudson Valley and is involved with some of the areas Boy Scout troops. His passions include surfing, fishing, hiking, cooking and spending time with family and friends or with one of his seven family dogs.
