CT Diagnostic Imaging

In an effort to better provide for the advanced imaging needs of our clients and those of our referral area, we are pleased to announce that we have upgraded our cat scanner to a GE Highspeed CTi Advanced Imaging System. Our Advanced Imaging Department is intended to meet both the needs of our own general and specialty practice patients as well as operate as an extension of those hospitals wishing to refer their patients for CT scans.
Patients may be referred by their primary veterinarian by calling our referral coordinator, Tara, at 845-223-8682. The area to be scanned should be indicated on the referral form and a minimal data base of a blood chemistry and CBC is required prior to general anesthesia. Labwork, and any additional testing which is indicated based on the patient’s health status, should be completed prior to scheduling an appointment for the CT. Clients are given an appointment with one of our staff veterinarians only to establish a client-patient relationship and to oversee anesthesia. We forward a radiology report from a Board Certified Radiologist within 24 hours so that you may contact your own client with the results and recommendations.
Denise Lenhart, LVT, has extensive experience in operating CT scans and is in charge of our Advanced Imaging Department. She is happy to answer any of your questions regarding our protocols and procedures, and she is in contact with the owners of scheduled patients to ensure that they are properly prepared and informed prior to their appointment.
All diagnostic images are read by a board-certified radiologist, and when necessary, a board-certified surgeon and board-certified oncologist. This unique capability is what makes Hudson Highlands Veterinary Specialty Group the choice for advanced diagnostic imaging.
