Hudson Highlands Veterinary Specialty Group is a 24 hour care veterinary referral center founded on the vision of John W. Whitefield, DVM. The entire staff consisting of veterinary specialists, board certified veterinarians, veterinary technicians and support staff seek to continue John's legacy of compassion and dedication to our veterinary patients and clients.
Being well known as a veterinary surgical referral center, we soon realized that in order to meet the growing needs of our Hudson Valley and Poughkeepsie area patients, we needed to add additional veterinary specialists to our staff. Since the opening of our new veterinary facility, in addition to our board certified veterinary surgeon, we now have a veterinary acupuncturist who is also certified in animal chiropractics. With our visiting consultants in veterinary internal medicine and cardiology, veterinary behavior, veterinary dentistry, and two clinical practice specialists to provide ultrasound and endoscopy we are able to provide for most of the needs of our veterinary referral patients. Soon our patients and clients will no longer need to travel for even the most advanced testing, as we will be adding new MRI and CT scan technology.
Hudson Highlands Veterinary Specialty Group is a "big city hospital" with the warmth, caring and personal touch of a small town. We consider it a privilege to carry on the wonderful legacy of the veterinary profession.
